Job Role: Performance Tools Specialist

1. Job Summary

We are seeking a Performance Tools Specialist with 5+ years of experience in DevOps, monitoring, observability, and performance engineering. The candidate should have hands-on expertise in Grafana, Prometheus, event monitoring, alerting, and k6 performance testing to ensure application reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain monitoring dashboards using Grafana and Prometheus.

  • Configure event monitoring, alert rules, and notifications for proactive incident detection.

  • Develop and execute load, stress, and performance tests using k6.

  • Integrate performance testing and monitoring into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Analyze performance metrics and troubleshoot application and infrastructure bottlenecks.

  • Automate deployments and operational tasks using DevOps tools and scripting.

  • Support cloud infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, and production incident management.

  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to improve system reliability.

3. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong hands-on experience with Grafana, Prometheus, PromQL, and Alertmanager.

  • Experience in event monitoring, alerting, and observability.

  • Proficiency in k6 performance testing, including load and stress testing.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.

  • Scripting skills in Python or Bash.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and performance optimization skills.

4. Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or performance engineering.

  • Practical experience with Grafana, Prometheus, event monitoring, and alerting.

  • Hands-on experience with k6 or similar performance testing tools.

  • Experience in automation, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and production support.
